The book of Al-Maghazi

(27) Chapter. The Muslims who were killed on the day (of the battle) of Uhud.

Amongst them were Hamza bin 'Abdul-Muttalib, Al-Yaman, An-Nadr bin Anas and Mus'ab bin 'Umair.

Hadeeth 4078.

Narrated Jabir Bin 'Abdullah رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا : Allah's Messenger صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِۦ وَسَلَّمَ used to shroud two martyrs of Uhud in one sheet and then say, "Which of them knew the Qur'an more?" When one of the two was pointed out, he would put him first in the grave. Then he said, "I will be a witness on them on the Day of Ressurrection." He ordered them to be buried with their blood (on their bodies). Neither was the funeral prayer offered for them, nor were they washed [with a Ghusl (a bath by washing of the whole body)].
